PSA Grading in Europe: Costs, Wait Times & the German Alternative (2026)

Want your Pokémon or sports cards graded by PSA from Europe? Since 15 September 2026 you can submit directly to PSA in Frankfurt — no US shipping, no customs. Here is what PSA grading really costs from Europe in 2026, how long it takes, and when a German alternative is the smarter choice. (As of September 2026)

The three routes to PSA from Europe

1. Ship directly to the USA: submit to PSA in California yourself. Add transatlantic shipping, insurance, customs on the way back and — depending on service level — weeks to months of waiting. You carry the transport risk. Following PSA’s April 2025 announcement, online direct submissions from non-US countries are suspended — as of September 2026 no lifting has been announced. For EU collectors this route has become irrelevant anyway: PSA Frankfurt now accepts their submissions directly (see route 3).

2. Use an intermediary: European PSA intermediaries bundle submissions and handle the paperwork. Convenient, but no longer necessary for EU collectors: intermediaries still exist and add their own fees on top of PSA’s prices — since 15 September 2026 you can submit to PSA Frankfurt yourself (as of September 2026).

3. PSA Europe in Frankfurt: PSA’s European site in Frankfurt am Main has been accepting submissions from private collectors in all 27 EU countries directly since 15 September 2026 — all you need is a free PSA Collectors account. Euro prices (as of September 2026): Standard from €49.99 (list price €59.99, cards up to €900, approx. 80–90 business days), Priority from €69.99 (list price €79.99, up to €1,300, approx. 70–80 business days), Express €199 (up to €2,200, approx. 25–30 business days). The cheaper Value and bulk tiers remain paused until PSA’s backlog falls below 5 million cards. Return shipping costs from Frankfurt have not been published; if a card grades above the value limit of its tier, PSA charges the difference. Whether the UK and Switzerland are included has not been stated by PSA.

When PSA is still worth it

Honest answer: for very expensive cards you plan to sell on the US market, where PSA slabs command the highest resale premium. For your own collection, European sales and anything below the high-end segment, the premium rarely justifies the cost, waiting time and risk.
